Greek right-wing politician, Adonis Georgiadis has continued his campaign to give Greeks abroad the right to vote.

In his Australian visit, the New Democracy MP and Committee Chairman for Greeks Abroad said there is bilateral support for the issue, but only from the two main parties.

The Communist Party and SYRIZA have not shown their support for the government’s legislative initiative. “We are really close to completing the procedure,” the MP said.

“There will also be voting letters as well as the opportunity for Greeks abroad to vote in polling stations in their place of residence.”

Georgiadis and his wife, Eugenia Manolidou are visiting Australia and had the time to sit down and speak with the vast Greek community in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
