Ingredients:
500 grams kataifi pastry
150 grams butter, melted
400 grams philadelphia cream cheese
1 cup milk
Syrup:
2 cups water
3 cups of sugar
Lemon juice of one lemon
Boil altogether and pour on to kataifi while still boiling
Method:
1. Melt butter and mix with kataifi, trying to pull it apart so it will become fluffier
2. In a large oven pan spread half kataifi on the bottom
3. With a spoon or fork, mix the cheese with the milk
4. Pour this mixture on the kataifi and cover with the other half of the kataifi
5. Bake at 150-160 º C until golden brown
6. Remove from the oven and keep it cold. When you are serving, prepare the syrup and pour hot. If you want to garnish with a few roasted pistachio nuts.
