Beirut Hellenic Bank is the latest organisation to join in on efforts to raise much needed funds for the Greek crisis by supporting the Hellenic Women of Sydney.

“Beirut Hellenic Bank is proud to be associated with the Hellenic Ladies of Sydney to relieve the grief of many children and women in Greece,” said Beirut Hellenic Bank’s head of marketing Soteris Hadjikyriacou.

A collaboration of eight major Greek Australian associations, the Hellenic Women of Sydney are a fundraising organisation that have made it their mission to raise money for women and children who are orphaned, abandoned, sick or disabled and caught in the struggle of the current Greek economic crisis. The women will be travelling to Greece, and with the money raised will purchase much needed goods such as clothing and food, which will help to further stimulate the local economy, and will personally deliver the items to charitable associations in Greece.

The fundraiser, which will be held at St Spyridon on May 10, will be attended by Australian Ambassador to Greece Jenny Bloomfield, along with the support of Archbishop Stylianos and Consul General for Greece Vasilios Tolios.

“We invite our generous community to lend a hand and contribute to the success of their mission,” said Mr Hadjikyriacou.
