Nick Papadopoulos won’t budge on price. He’s adamant he can sell his three-bedroom two-storey terrace house in George St, Redfern for over $839,000.

The house has stayed on the market for over two years, gone to auction twice and even featured on the renovation program, Selling houses.

Mr Papadopoulos says he’s baffled at the lack of interest.

“I don’t know why it doesn’t sell. I suppose I just need to wait for a buyer. I don’t worry about inspections or anything, I just live my life, I don’t change anything in the house,” he said.

After three different agents, Mr Papadopoulos has even tried to sell the house himself with a homemade sign out the front.

In 2011, the house underwent renovations with Mr Papdopoulos parting with $30,000 to feature the house of Selling Houses.

Interior decorator Shaynna Blaze ripped out the old kitchen and replaced it with a stainless steel modern look, painted every room and the exterior, added carpet and floorboards, moved the toilet inside and even the courtyard had a makeover courtesy of landscaper Charlie Albone.

The show’s ex-real estate agent host, Andrew Winter, estimated at the time a more appropriate price would be about $750,000. When told the house was still on the market for $839,000, he said: “I’m not surprised.”

Mr Papadopoulos, a retired engineer, bought the house in the 1980s for $60,000.

The house is still on the market.
