The death of a Heidelberg West couple has been determined as “not suspicious” following a post-mortem examination.
Christopher Dokos, 47, and Katrina Baron, 50, were found dead in their Ramu Parade home on Sunday after a concerned family member contacted police.
Both suffered medical conditions and were on disability pensions. Their 11-year-old daughter is believed to be in the care of her grandparents.
The pair were last seen last Friday waiting outside their home to be picked up by a family member for their usual outing to Preston Market.
It is believed they went back inside to escape the heat. A family went to visit and after knocks at their door went unanswered, they left after leaving a note.
In a statement to the Herald Sun, the family said the couple were “inseparable”.
“Christopher and Katrina were a happily married couple who cared very deeply for each other,” they said.
“Our families are deeply saddened by these tragic events.”
Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
