Celebrity chef Manu Feildel is going to join George Calombaris’ Made Establishment and take over the South Yarra restaurant Mama Baba in March.
Feildel told Neos Kosmos that even though he will be part of the team, he will work independently in the restaurant.
The celebrity chef – who has become an Australian household name as the co-host of My Kitchen Rules along with Pete Evans – was destined to work in food, even though he originally wanted to be a clown. His great-grandfather was a pastry chef, his grandfather and father were chefs, his cousin is a chef in the United States and his mother is a great cook.
“But I’m still a clown too,” said Feildel at the launch of My Kitchen Rules this week.
This is the first time the French-born chef will open a restaurant in Melbourne.
