A-League football club Sydney FC is expected to announce it has signed Graham Arnold as their new coach.

News Corp has reported that Arnold had signed a three-year contract to coach the Sky Blues.

He replaces another former Socceroo coach, Frank Farina, who was sacked after taking the club to this season’s A-League finals.

Arnold won the 2012-13 A-League title with the Central Coast Mariners and also coached the Socceroos following a distinguished playing career with the national team.

He left the Mariners during the 2013-14 campaign to coach Japanese side Vegalta Sendai, but parted company with them in February.

Arnold is expected to be given funds to rejuvenate Sydney, who has lost marquee star Alessandro Del Piero and has several players coming off contract.
