It’s the last round for the Dockerty Cup. Already, we’ve seen Greek-sponsored clubs South Melbourne and Northcote City snag a spot in the quarter finals.

This we’ll see if our fellow clubs make it in.

This year, the Victorian Cup will hold a lot more weight, with the final four top clubs qualifying for the round of 32 in the FFA Cup.

By June 9 we will know who our top four is, and if our top league ladders have much to say, we’ll be seeing at least one Victorian Greek-sponsored team playing for a shot at the cup.

Already we’ll have Sydney Olympic playing for a spot, having qualified two weeks ago and today we will see if West Adelaide Hellas will make it, taking on rivals Adelaide City.

The Victorian Cup will be a chance for these under-represented, but much-loved clubs in the states to really show the A-League clubs what they’re made of.

This week, we’ve seen South Melbourne knock out Dandenong Thunder with a 1-0 clean win, and Northcote City keep its winning streak going with a 2-3 win over Werribee City.

South Springvale “Aris” has also recorded a clean 1-0 win over Fawkner Blues and secured their spot in the quarter final.

They’ll be taking on the NPL’s Hume City in two weeks when the finals kick off.

Some clubs are yet to play in round 6, including Greek club Bentleigh Greens who have suffered a couple of regrettable losses in the NPL.

They’re up against a frightening FC Bulleen Lions, who last round annihilated Westvale SC 9-0, one of the highest scoring matches of the season.
