As Greece struggles to gain economic and national sovereignty, Australians are preparing a public rally as part of the international campaign ‘Let Greece breathe’.

Set to take place on Tuesday 21 April at the Victorian Trades Hall, politicians and representatives from various Australian trade unions will gather to show their support.

The rally will give recognition to Greece’s ongoing struggle following the economic crisis, while the country’s leaders make efforts to address the situation and try to come to an agreement with its European partners.

Speakers will include head of the Australian-Greek Solidarity Campaign Adam Rorris, federal Greens MP Adam Bandt, president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) Ged Kearney and national president of the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union Andrew Dettmer.

A message from the Greek government will also be presented at the rally.

The gathering is set to take place on Tuesday 21 April at 7.00 pm at the Victorian Trades Hall (corner of Lygon and Victoria streets).
