Planning is well underway for the annual Darebin Homemade Food & Wine Festival (29 May – 4 June) – a unique annual celebration of food traditions and sustainable food practices, with an inspiring program of workshops, demonstrations, seminars, and special events.
The festival is currently on the hunt for the home winemaking yiayiades and pappoudes for a pilot project that aims to match older home winemakers with younger people eager to learn this traditional skill.
Interested mentors need to be based in the Darebin municipality, plan to make wine at home in 2017, and be keen to share their skills. The festival committee will photograph and record some meetings to capture the connections made through this project.
