For 37 years, the Australian Financial Review has tallied the numbers to reveal the country’s most successful entrepreneurs. The valuations are out, with Anthony Pratt and family topping the tally with $15.57bn. Gina Rinehart follows with 13.81 bn, however there were also a number of Greeks who made their way to the top of the rich list.

1. Makris, Con and Family ($1.32 billion), ranked 69
The 72-year-old businessman based in the Gold Coast is the first Greek Australian immigrant to become a billionaire. 2. Politis, Nick ($1.23 billion), ranked 74

The majority of the 77-year-old Sydney-based businessman’s wealth comes from his privately-owned WFM Motors. He is also the chair of the NRL’s Sydney Roosters and a minority owner of the Brisbane Broncos.

3. Paspaley, Nicholas and family ($1.12 billion), ranked 83
The Darwin-based 71-year-old was not assessed last year. The company was founded by the late Nicholas Paspaley, and is now owned by his three children, whereas grandchildren have also entered the business.
