March is women’s month – Why have one day when you can have a month?

In 2020, the Greek Community of Melbourne and Victoria has decided to mark International Women’s Day a little differently.

There have been 31 women invited – one for each day of March – to speak to the GCM about themselves, their remarkable achievements and what they believe to be the critical changes that are needed to progress women’s equality and rights.

It is hoped that the online campaign will reach thousands and showcase the diversity of women within the Greek Australian community.

The global theme for 2020 IWD is #EachforEqual – an equal world is an enabled world. The organisers hope that the stories are shared and reflected upon to ensure that collective change is achieved.

The stories also hope to raise awareness across the community (and beyond) of women so that in turn audiences support the presenters by going to see their performance, buy their design, support their effort, join their club or contribute to their course.
