The Meteo weather prognostics site, run by the National Observatory of Athens, has been the go-to place for Greeks to get their most up-to-date weather forecasts. The addition of time-lapse footage in areas where weather changes are taking place are an interesting addition to the service.
Time-lapse footage over beautiful Mount Pelion in Central Greece captures a mist as it blankets over Zagora, one of the picturesque traditional villages of the mountain.
Captured on 29 April 2020, cold air masses transported from the mountain slopes come down denser to cool the moist air masses above the sea. The temperature reversal creates stratos clouds, low-level layers with a uniform grey or white colour.
