Fans were eager to see if Bayern Munich were going to deliver as scathing a loss to Olympique Lyonnais as they had to FC Barcelona last Saturday with their 8-2 victory.

Maybe not as scathing, yet no less exceptional, Bayern has powered their way into the UEFA Champions League grand final after taking out Lyon 3-0 earlier this week.

After beating out Chelsea, Barcelona and now Lyon, Hansi Flick’s side will be vying for their sixth European Cup win since the league began in 1955.

In 2020 Bayern have remained unbeaten throughout this season of the Champions League, scoring 42 goals and conceding only eight.

Their fellow contenders Paris Saint-Germain have had an impressive season winning eight of their 10 matches, conceding only once against Dortmund and drawing once with Real Madrid.

Eyes will definitely be on PSG’s star players Neymar and Kylian Mbappe who take the top two spots for most expensive football transfers.

The Champions League grand final will take place at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon on Monday 24 August, 5:00 am AEST.
