Two South Korean contestants interpreted a well-known work by George Dalaras in a music reality show.

The song, “Ti Pathos” (What Passion), with lyrics and music by Dimitris Lagios from Zakynthos was given a Korean twist in the final episode of the third season of Phantom Singer, a popular JTBC music program which goes to air every Friday.

Hwang Geon-ha and Ko Young Yeol’s Greek interpretation not only enthused the audience, but helped the duet win the season and had South Korea praising Greek music – while Greek music lovers also gave them a thumbs up for their performance.

Mr Young-Yeol said that his team, Rabidance, is composed of three genres: vocal music, traditional Korean music, and musical. “The diversity that four members are so diverse in color is our charm,” he said.

Geon-ha said that the song helped him improve as a singer. “When Yong-yeol and I performed ‘Ti pathos’, I found that my singing performance is improved, enjoying singing without feeling nervous,” he said. “I thought I could grow more and more.”

Enjoy!
