Sydney FC and Melbourne City in Sunday’s A-League grand final

30 August will see Sydney FC and Melbourne City battle it out in the 2020 Hyundai A-League Grand Final at 6.30pm AEST.

Both top teams took out their opposition 2-0 during Wednesday’s semi-final matches at Bankwest Stadium.

Melbourne City secured their first A-League grand final spot thanks to star striker Jamie Maclaren who added to his season tally in the 68th minute. It was a late own goal by Western United’s Tomoki Ima that rubbed salt in the underdog’s wound.

Sydney FC knocked out Perth Glory early on in their match with two goal scored in the space of five minutes thanks to midfielder Milos Ninkovic and forward Adam Le Fondre.
