PAOK was sent home packing after being dealt an upsetting 2-1 loss by Krasnodar at Toumba Stadium last night.
Unfortunately the Greek team could not get a 1-0 win to overturn its initial loss to the Russian front and bring up their aggregate score.
The game began slow, as PAOK struggled to turn their strong footwork into actual goals.
It was not until the second half began where all of the game’s goals were scored, much to PAOK’s dismay.
In the 73rd minute Krasnodar defender Igor Smolnikov crossed the ball into PAOK territory, before an unintentional back heel made by PAOK defender Giannis Michailidis sent it in for an own goal.

The Greek front quickly got their heads back in the game, managing to equalise the score thanks to a header by midfielder Omar El Kaddouri in the 77th minute.
The small victory was exceptionally short lived as within seconds of the game restarting Krasnodar’s Remy Cabella used Tonny Vilhena goalpost rebound to bring the score to 2-1.
The Thessalonians left the stadium on a 4-2 aggregate loss.
For now, PAOK continues in the Europa League groups, awaiting the draw that will take place on Friday. Fellow Greek team AEK hopes to join when it hosts Wolfsburg tomorrow morning at 4:45am AEST.
On Thursday (Friday 1:00am AEST) Olympiacos will be hearing who its next opponents will be.
