Promising news coming out of the clinic for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was helped off the court during game 4 of the NBA’s Eastern Conference finals by his brother and teammate Thanasis.

The Bucks forward jumped up to contest an alley-oop from John Collins to Clint Capela during the third quarter, but fell awkwardly, hyperextending his knee. He was taken off the court with just over seven minutes left on the clock.

According to ESPN’s sources, the basketballer’s MRI showed the ligaments in his knee were undamaged, however when he will return to the court is still up in the air.

This is the second year in a row that the ‘Greek Freak’ has dealt with an injury during the post-season.

The Bucks conceded 88-110 to the Atlanta Hawks at the end of game 4, tying the series at 2-2.

Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer is still holding out hope that his team will make it, even without one of his star players if need be.

“We’ve played games without Giannis, without Khris [Middleton], without Jrue [Holiday], and hopefully you have a structure and a system where you can function at a high level on both ends of the floor no matter who is playing,” he said in a post match interview.

The Milwaukee side is hoping it doesn’t have a repeat of last year after falling behind Miami 3-0 in the second round. Antetokounmpo sprained his ankle in Game 4 last season, knocking him out for the rest of that series.

The Bucks are set to host the Hawks tomorrow at 10:30am AEST.
