Family, friends and fans gathered at the Panagitsa Church and Paleo Faliro cemetery at noon Monday to bid their last farewells to rapper Mad Clip, who was killed in a speeding accident at Vouliagmeni, Athens, on Thursday, 2 September.

Family members travelled from the United States to be at the funeral.

Colleagues from Panic Records were present, including Tamta, Eleni Foureira and Paris Kasidokostas.

The 34-year-old rapper, born Peter Anastasopoulos, died after losing control of his vehicle, crashing into an electrical pole. The collision was so severe that the driver was trapped for two hours inside his vehicle before firefighters were able to release him.

The famous rapper was born in Astoria, New York, in 1988 and came to Greece for the first time at the age of 13 before finally settling in the country in 2016.

In a recent interview, he had said that he had anchored in Greece, writing music with Greek lyrics after years of writing in English.

He released four albums: “Super trapper”, “O Amerikanos” LP, “Super Trapper 2” and “Still Active” with songs such as “Maybe” with Eleni Foureira, “Yachts”, “Hustla”, “Baby” and “Hope” becoming instant hits.
