A leading Greek power provider, WATT+VOLT, signed an agreement on 22 Septemberwith German IT companies emsys VPP, which will provide a Virtual Power Plant, and its partner organisation energy&meteo systems which is an energy and power-forecasting service provider

The Greek power provider supplies gas and electricity to 210,00 households, businesses and industrial clients. Under the new agreement emsys VPP will configure the Virtual Power Plant to connect to all of the provider’s power assets and will also provide continual operational support.

Under the agreement emsys VPP which is based in Oldenburg Germany, will provide a Virtual Power Plant that will digitally connect the Greek power provider to its wide-ranging energy units. The Software-as-a Service (SaaS) will enable WATT+VOLT through the Virtual Power Plant to monitor and remotely control and trade in real-time its combined production of electricity.

The other partner in the agreement, energy&meteo systems will provide precise solar and wind power forecasts.

The forecasts will be integrated into the Virtual Power Plant and will enable WATT+VOLT to react early and plan accurately its expanding renewable energy portfolio which is highly dependent on the weather.
