The team at the Greek Community of Melbourne are busily planning behind the scenes in partnership with both State and Local Government to ensure the best festival is being produced while also being COVID-19 safe.
For years, Antipodes – Lonsdale St Greek Festival has been taking over the historic Lonsdale St Greek Precinct. Melbourne’s largest Greek cultural celebration with over 90 stalls, three free entertainment stages and roving performers, children’s rides and activities, as well as multiple bars and an array of mouthwatering Greek culinary delights, with happenings for the entire family to enjoy.
Even in 2020, more than 100,000 people descended onto Lonsdale Street for Australia’s largest Greek Street party and celebration of all things Greek offering over 40 hours of free live entertainment programmed across three stages, retail and attractions including a plethora of delicious authentic food offerings.
The event was a huge success and still regarded as the largest celebration of all things Greek outside of Greece, attracting a good mix of intergenerational first-time and regular attendees from all walks of life.
Get excited! The weekend of Saturday 5 March and Sunday 6 March 2022 is going to be one to remember.
