The Halikos building as part of the General Hospital of Kalymnos island has been completed, build entirely at the expense of the island’s great benefactor, John Halikos.

Halikos, a Darwin-based business magnate, was born on the Greek island of Kalymnos, but moved to the Northern Territory in Australia with his family when he was still a baby. Halikos has since evolved into one most prominent and largest construction names in NT and his company, Halikos Group has been going from strength to strength for over 30 years in industries across property management, development hospitality, manufacturing, retail and investment.

The Group has also expanded in Hotels, with “H”, declared one of the 10 best resorts in Australia.

Even though Halikos is very active in Australia he visits his birthplace every year and makes sure he invests towards the island’s development. His fellow compatriots said that the new hospital wing named after Kalymnos’ benefactor is the island’s jewel offering patients and younger generations a sense of security and hope as well as several new job openings, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
