St John’s Greek Orthodox College which has undergone major upgrades over the last 19 months, is looking to raise $300,000 for upgrades that will provide “outstanding contemporary learning spaces” for current and future students and also to commission a mosaic of the school’s Patron saint, St John the Baptist and Forerunner which will be displayed at the school’s front entrance.

The school which opened 42 years ago as Australia’s first Greek Orthodox bilingual day school is seeking contributions from the community to achieve both aims.

The Principal, Anna Urban, Fr John Frangos, the chair of the College Board said in a statement that all members of the community who donated towards the Mosaic Fundraising Project would have their name placed on the Honour Wall on the school grounds.
