COVID permitting, AEK and PAOK are set to headline the 17th round of the Super League as they both wish to stake their claim as the second most fearsome club this season.

The Athenian Giants will host the Thessaloniki visitors on Monday morning (AEDT) and the home side will be motivated to protect their position in second as it slowly comes under threat with PAOK’s good form.

A win for PAOK will see them narrow the gap to only two points with a game in hand.

Olympiacos will hold Asteras Tripolis at Karaiskakis Stadium and, after a draw against the league’s bottom placed team, they will be eager to remind the away side of their superiority.

Panathinaikos travels to Volos as they seek to maintain their current form which includes their success over the home side in the Greek Cup at the end of last year.

Aris welcomes Atromitos to Thessaloniki with only a win on their mind after their midweek loss to Panathinaikos.

Ionikos hosts Apollon Smyrnis with the visitors seeking to build on their terrific draw against Olympiacos last round as they try to get off the bottom of the ladder.

PAS Giannina will head down to Crete to face OFI in another tense clash between fifth and sixth on Sunday morning.

Panetolikos and Lamia will play each other on Tuesday morning in the round’s final fixture as the away side hopes to end its seven-match winless run in the league.

The completion or postponement of the matches will depend on the number of COVID-19 cases that may appear at the clubs.
