The Greek Community of Melbourne created two years ago the online program “Greek for Late Beginners”, which is aimed at children aged 10-18 who did not have the opportunity to start learning Greek at a younger age, acknowledging the need that arose in education, in the midst of the pandemic and wanting to help the Greek children of Melbourne learn the language of their grandparents and parents.
This program is offered in cycles of 10 courses lasting two hours each. New classes commence on Monday, 31 January 2022.
This course provides students with the opportunity to develop their communication skills in Modern Greek and their knowledge and understanding of the Greek language and culture. This elementary level will introduce the Greek alphabet, greetings and introductions, and how to describe various daily activities. No prior knowledge of Greek is required.
