World No.4 Stefanos Tsitsipas has improved his score by a lot with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 win over Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open on Wednesday.

He did not let his opponent breathe, breaking points non stop.

No. 11 Sinner did not stand a chance. It only took Tsitsipas a bit under two hours to eviscerate the other young player who has been dubbed “a rising star”.

Tsitsipas has now won all five major quarterfinals he’s played in and is to face the winner of the quarterfinal match between US Open champion Daniil Medvedev and No. 9-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Speaking to the crowd while interviewed after his amazing win, he said:

“My humility helped me a lot today, I knew I was going against a really good player,” he mused, adding that he has evolved his tactics a lot.

“Having the crowd’s support has been unbelievable,” Tsitsipas enthused as his fans were cheering.

Lastly, he thanked his doctor who treated him following his elbow surgery, bringing back even stronger.

“I’m pretty sure my doctor is watching right now… We both didn’t expect for me to participate at the Australian Open. He certainly told me ‘I don’t see you playing in Australia’; I proved him wrong.”

“Consistency is key he said. I gotta keep in the work. Be one with the fans and let’s do this. We’re in this together. Let’s go!”

More to come.
