At Lexi School of Modern Greek, a dynamic team of dedicated teachers are passionate about maintaining Greek language in our community. Through an interactive thematic approach and modern teaching methodologies, they offer an engaging and stimulating classroom environment for pre-school, primary and secondary students. They strive to instill in their students a genuine love and sense of pride for the Greek language and culture and to strengthen their connection with their heritage.

Inspired by their own children to create a stimulating learning environment for the introduction of Greek language classes, the School Principals, Evie Simos – Giannoulakis and Mary Krimbogiannis-Souvlis established the unique pre-school “Zouzounia Program” in 2007.

Classes are run in Moonee Ponds, Richmond, Preston and Oakleigh. Through stories, craft, games, song and dance, toddlers and pre-schoolers participate in fun educational activities together with their parents or grandparents, making new friendships while developing strong foundations for Greek language learning.

“The last two years have been difficult, however through the challenges faced, the school community has grown closer and stronger. Teachers and parents have worked together to support, engage and motivate our students. Remote learning has given us further insight into how to connect with our students and enable them to feel a sense of joy, confidence and achievement”, the school directors said.
