Olympiacos has survived their ominous away trip to Toumba, managing to leave with a point as PAOK was left disappointed that they were not able to secure the win.

The league leaders dealt with their opponents well enough in the highlight match of the Hellenic Championship’s 20th round, protecting their unbeaten league campaign and nine-point lead over their opponents.

The Thessaloniki side scored first on Monday morning (AEDT) after defender Ousseynou Ba’s attempted clearance deflected into his own net (41’) but the Piraeus giants negated this just two minutes later through striker Tiquinho Soares’ well-placed header.

Volos delivered another shock upset as they beat AEK 1-2 away in a magnificent result for the club. AEK winger Steven Zuber missed a penalty (9’) with Volos striker Tom Van Weert capitalising with a goal of his own (16’). Striker Sergio Araujo equalised for the home side (20’) but Van Weert stepped up again, converting his penalty (85’) to put his side ahead before he was sent off two minutes later for a second yellow offence.

Lamia recorded a great 2-1 win at home against OFI, extending their opponents’ losing streak to three. The Cretans went ahead through winger Kosmas Tsilianidis (33’) before a late brace from substitute forward Giorgos Manousos (82’, 87’) gave the Fthiotida side all three points.

Ionikos produced a vital 2-1 home result against Atromitos to maintain a healthy gap of seven points between the two clubs. The Nikaia side struck first through a wonderful long-range shot by midfielder Jose Alberto Canas (32’) before winger Reinaldo Lenis doubled the lead (39’).
