In what seems to be the trend of the season for this year’s Greek Festival events, the Melina Aslanidou Concert scheduled for Wednesday 16 March will be moving from the Factory Theatre to the Enmore Theatre.

This is the second concert in the Greek Festival of Sydney program of events that is moving to the Enmore Theatre due to unforeseen extreme weather circumstances as well as the overwhelming ticket sales.

Melina Aslanidou’s concert on the 13th of March at Darling Harbour has been postponed, with hundreds of fans looking for tickets available on the 16th of March, forcing a move to a larger venue to accommodate demand.

“Following the postponement of this Sunday’s Greek Fest Darling Harbour, we noticed a boost in sales in what was an already almost sold-out show,” said Nia Karteris, Chair of the Greek Festival of Sydney.

“We wanted to provide the opportunity for as much of the public to have access to what will be an unmissable performance.”

Melina Aslanidou last performed in Sydney with George Dalaras in 2010. This will be her first time in Sydney performing solo in what is sure to be the concert of the season. One of Greece’s most loved singers Melina is known for her ‘entechno’ music style that combines orchestral elements with folk and pop sounds.

Audiences can expect a musical program full of artistic and traditional melodies ranging from laika to alternative.
