Greece’s Minister for Tourism Vassilis Kikilias will be the guest speaker for the Greek Australian Dialogue series video conference via Zoom on Wednesday, 25 May.

The talk being held under the auspices of Business Sydney with Trade Commissioner of Greece in Australia Katia Gkikiza, and the Consulate-General in Sydney is open to the public after registration.

Mr Kikilias will talk about the link between trade and tourism and its importance to the Greek economy to which the industry contributes one in every four euros earned to the Greek economy.

The minister will outline strategies that support traditional and dynamic branches of business activity as well as efforts to attract new investment in key sectors of Greece’s economy that will stimulate tourism as well as improve the country’s infrastructure.

The importance of the European Union and national recovery funds for important infrastructure projects will also come under the spotlight and the minister will talk about destination-management initiatives, the development of mountain tourism, agro-tourism, wellness and health, gastronomy, port and marina projects.

There will be a question-and-answer session after the minister delivers his talk.
