A 53-year-old police officer in Greece who was arrested on Friday by the force’s internal affairs division for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl has been suspended.
An administrative investigation has been launched against him following a criminal complaint filed by the teen and her parents.
According to the lawsuit, the officer, taking advantage of his side job as a volleyball coach in an island club, drove the teen to an isolated location and raped her.
He also used a profile he created in a social media platform to lure her into watching pornography, Kathimerini reported.
The 14-year-old was examined by a doctor while the preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had molested another minor.
As part of the investigation, officers seized mobile phones, computers, video cameras, a tablet and digital storage devices from the suspect’s home.
The police officer was led before a prosecutor.
