Independent publishing house, Masterthief Press run by Peter Lyssiotis, launches its first work of extended fiction with a novel written by a second generation Greek Australian, Nick Petroulias.

Petroulias is a Melbourne author from Northcote who has been previously published by Meanjin and Arena journal. His novella Man Alone was presented at Readings on Monday 8 November.

In Man Alone, the wild and beautiful coastal Great Ocean Road and the suburban family home interior come together in a story about family and the pain of a lost friendship through a hero’s journey through isolation, leading to a new kind of masculinity an unfamiliar and unexplored freedom, away from ‘toxic’ patterns.

Lyssiotis started Masterthief back in 1985, hand crafting limited edition artist books. These unique collaborations between artist, writer, architect, printer, artisan and designer can be found in libraries, galleries and private collections in Australia, USA, Switzerland, Netherlands, France and Cyprus.
