The derby between Olympiacos and AEK could not produce a victor, allowing Panathinaikos to go into the mid-season break with an eight-point lead after they defeated Atromitos.

The Piraeus giants and Enosi played out a 0-0 draw at “Georgios Karaiskakis” Stadium on Monday morning in the Greek Super League’s 13th round, with the result benefitting neither side.

The reigning champions managed to hit the back of the net through playmaker James Rodriguez but VAR cancelled it out due to there being an offside player in the build-up (59’).

The match featured a myriad of chances for both teams, though neither could capitalise and they each had to accept one point.

A goal from winger Sito (18’) was enough to guide Asteras Tripolis to a 1-0 home victory over Ionikos on Tuesday morning, with the Arcadians snapping their seven-match winless streak.

OFI secured a huge 2-1 home triumph against Levadiakos to get off the bottom of the ladder.

The match started horribly for the Cretans, with their striker Fiorin Durmishaj accidentally heading the ball into his own net from a corner inside the first minute.

OFI midfielder Juan Neira made it level with a header (74’) before Durmishaj made up for his error, finding the crucial winner to seal the three points.

Panathinaikos downed Atromitos 2-0 at “Leoforos” ground on Monday morning to officially enter the World Cup break unbeaten (10 victories and one draw).

The visitors showed tremendous fight to stay in the contest, especially with midfielder August Erlingmark being sent off in the 35th minute for a second yellow.

The “Trifylli” eventually pulled ahead via Fotis Ioannidis, with the striker’s effort creeping into the bottom right (80’) to give him his second goal in as many matches.

Centre half Hordur Magnusson sealed the three points with a fantastic free kick into the top right (90+4’) as Panathinaikos continue their phenomenal league campaign.

PAOK defeated Volos 3-0 at “Toumba” Stadium to leap ahead of them on the ladder into third at the halfway mark of the regular season.

The Thessaloniki outfit went ahead via a penalty into the bottom left from striker Nelson Oliveira (28’) and winger Andrija Zivkovic soon made it two with a magnificent half volley strike on the turn from the edge of the box (30’).

Volos captain Jean Barrientos blew a terrific chance to halve the deficit when he hit his spot-kick over the crossbar (44’), a mistake PAOK midfielder Douglas Augusto would not make as he converted his penalty into the top right (62’).

Aris decimated Giannina with a huge 0-4 away victory to add to their massive 5-0 win in the midweek round.

Centre back Fabiano converted his effort from the spot on the hour mark before his defensive partner with a header from a corner movement (79’).

Substitute Moses Odubajo scored the scrappiest of goals when his header found its way into the net despite repeated attempts by Giannina’s defence to clear the ball (81’) and winger Luis Palma hit the final nail in the coffin with a shot that deflected into the bottom left (90+3’).

Panetolikos beat Lamia 1-3 away to snap their seven-match winless run in all competitions. Led chiefly by star forward Nikos Karelis.

The Agrinio club took an early led after Karelis finished the ball into the bottom left (7’) but the Fthiotida side soon equalised via midfielder Tomas de Vincenti (12’).

Karelis restored the lead for the visitors with a penalty down the middle (30’) and his teammate, Joao Pedro, guaranteed the victory with a last-minute goal (90+7’).

The league now goes on break until December 21 for the 2022 World Cup.
