The first edition of the 2022 Greek Book Fair (GrBF) is set to take place at the Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture, inaugurated by Dr Andonis Piperoglou, Hellenic Senior Lecturer in Global Diasporas at the University of Melbourne.
On Sunday 27 November, the Greek-Australian Cultural League will announce the Book Prize awards for books written by authors residing in Australia who have published and circulated their works written in Greek or English, and bilingual works.
A joint initiative of the Greek Community of Melbourne, the Greek-Australian Cultural League, and the Hellenic Writers Association of Australia, GrBF aims to help Greek-Australian writers, bookshops, and publishers to present, promote and sell their books. The program includes free and open to the general public casual talks, panel discussions, book launches, book signings, book awards, interactive and educational activities featuring more than thirty exhibitors including authors, publishers, bookshops, and organisations.
The authors launching new works are Petro Alexiou, Stavros Messinis, Eleni Elefterias, Varvara Athanasiou-Ioannou, George Petrou OAM, Betty Coracas and Stella Sorotou.
Authors available for Q&A’s, book signings and presentations are Billy Cotsis, Niki Farfara-Pashos, Ourania Papageorgiou, Perry Papageorgiou, Jim Claven, John Martino, Betty Coracas, George Petrou, Koraly Dimitriadis, Helen Zervopoulos, Eleni Elefterias, Angela Costi, Vivian Pagourelias-Vassiliadis and Marjorie Morrissey.
As this is a vendor-based event it is up to individual exhibitors as to how they will accept payments.
