The Victorian state elections are now entering the final week and both Labor and Coalition are keen to sure up their credentials with the large Greek Victorian population.

As part of the total package of $50 million promised to multicultural communities, $1 million has been allocated to a Greek Community Infrastructure Program.

Premier Dan Andrews in a media release said, that the “community deserves great spaces to come together to celebrate and share in culture and tradition.”

“Our Greek community is no different and this investment will make sure Greek Victorians remain strong and connected,” said Andrews.

The aim is to assist in the upgrade of community infrastructure for supporting Greek Victorians.

Under the program, $100,000 will be invested to upgrade Greek Orthodox Parish of Saints Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene in Bentleigh and another $100,000 to upgrade facilities at the Hellenic Community of the City of Moorabbin.

“Labor is doing what matters – supporting our multicultural and multifaith communities and celebrating diversity in our state.”
