American film studio Millennium Media is currently in Thessaloniki, shooting at different locations across the city for Hollywood thriller Dirty Angels, starring Eva Green who is most notably known for her role in James Bond film Casino Royale.

This is the fifth production the studio has set up in Thessaloniki in just over a year giving the city’s economy and publicity a boost.

Governor of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, said that the film has a cost of around 35 million euros, of which approximately 25 million will be spent in his area of ​​responsibility, while filming will take place in the studios in Thermi, Asvestochori, Perea, in areas of western Thessaloniki, in mountainous Halkidiki and in other places.

“We are talking about at least 250 new jobs for this film, Greeks, capable people, young people who now, after so many years, had no place to work based on their studies, find a way and are absorbed through this mobility. Filming will last three months in Greece. Then the film will be completed in Morocco and in the post production, Thessaloniki will also star in this film” the regional governor had pointed out.

The action thriller directed by Martin Campbell also features Maria Bakalova and Ruby Rose in leading roles.

Eva Green plays Alissa Silverman, an American involved in the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan in 2021.

The movie follows a group of female soldiers posing as medical relief who are sent back in to rescue a group of kidnapped teenagers caught between ISIS and the Taliban.
