AEK is in store for a tricky fixture against OFI which they desperately need to win to stay within reach of rivals Panathinaikos, with this weekend full of potential upsets that could add further tension to the gripping title race as we approach the final stages of the regular season.

Enosi travels away to face the Cretans on Monday morning (AEDT) in the Greek Super League’s 25th round in one of six matches wherein a top six team is facing a guaranteed play-outs side.

As such, the double-headed eagle of the South will be extra motivated to down OFI and not give the Greens any chance of extending their lead, especially since they have a derby with Olympiacos lined up next week.

Panathinaikos, meanwhile, is set to compete with Panetolikos at “Leoforos” Stadium on Tuesday morning and they too will feel the pressure to perform in their final two regular season games ahead of the intense play-offs.

The play-offs are looking to be the ultimate decider for the championship this term, making it imperative that either AEK or the “Trifylli” create as big a lead as possible beforehand.

Olympiacos challenges 13th placed Levadiakos at “Georgios Karaiskakis” ground in a must-win contest on Monday morning, with the Piraeus giants fighting to remain in serious contention for a fourth straight premiership.

PAOK is also hosting a struggling side in Ionikos (12th) at “Toumba” Stadium with maximum points necessary if they too wish to maintain their own stake in the title hunt.

Aris comes up against bottom-placed Lamia away with only victory on their mind as they still find themselves locked in a heated battle for fifth spot with Volos.

The Magnesia club is slated to go away and play a difficult Giannina side which is on a six-match drawing streak, meaning they will have to muster some serious strength to break them down.

Asteras Tripolis takes on Atromitos at home in the round’s opening contest on Saturday morning, with the pressure all on the Peristeriotes to win as they are the only club outside the top six that is still mathematically a chance of breaking into it.
