AEK have seized first place once more after recording a vital victory over OFI, applying extra pressure on title rivals Panathinaikos to stay on their toes.

Enosi defeated OFI 0-3 in Crete on Monday morning (AEDT) in the Greek Super League’s 25th round, moving one point ahead of the Greens who will have a chance to reclaim top spot when they play Panetolikos tomorrow.

The double-headed eagle of the South took the lead right before half time when winger Nordin Amrabat released an effort that deflected off a defender and into the goal (43′).

Amrabat then found his second quickly after the break, striking the ball into the bottom left following a failed headed clearance (49′).

AEK midfielder Mijat Gacinovic secured the points with a final goal in the 62nd minute, finishing into the bottom left corner after being sent through expertly by playmaker Petros Mantalos.

Olympiacos showed their class by obliterating Levadiakos 6-0 at “Georgios Karaiskakis” ground, with Spanish wingers Pep Biel and Sergi Canos standing out with respective braces.

The Piraeus giants started with a bang as Biel found the back of the net three minutes in, with teammate In-Beom Hwang soon doubling their advantage (38′).

Biel struck again soon after the restart (49′) before striker Cedric Bakambu slotted away a penalty (58′) for his 12th goal this campaign, becoming outright league top scorer in the process.

Canos then replaced Biel and followed his lead, scoring twice in the final ten minutes (86′, 88′) to cap off a phenomenal performance.

PAOK perfectly emulated Olympiacos in their own match, thrashing Ionikos 6-0 at “Toumba” Stadium as youngster Stefanos Tzimas made history by becoming the club’s youngest ever goal.

The Thessaloniki outfit came out with a vengeance, scoring four times inside the opening half hour, kicking off with an unfortunate own goal from Ionikos captain Alaixys Romao (2′).

Winger Khaled Narey earned a hat-trick of assists, providing for teammates Giannis Konstantelias (24′), Brandon Thomas (28′) and Andrija Zivkovic, who remarkably lobbed the ball in from the edge of the box into the top right (30′).

The Nikaia team suffered another blow in the form of a send-off for midfielder Zinedine Machach (49′) and, five minutes later, Narey found his fourth assist of the match through a free kick delivery that was volleyed in by right back Tomasz Kedziora.

The final nail in the coffin arrived in injury time when 17-yr-old Stefanos Tzimas headed home a cross to etch himself into PAOK’s record books (90+1′).

Lamia managed an unbelievable 2-1 home upset over Aris for just their second win this season to get off the bottom of the ladder.

The Fthiotida side steered themselves to a two-nil lead following goals from midfielder Vykintas Slivka (15′) and striker Nikos Vergos (26′), the latter dispossessing defender Nicolas N’koulou from just outside the box before guiding the ball into the bottom left.

The yellow-blacks got one back through centre half Jakub Brabec’s header following a free kick (44′), though it was not enough as Lamia hung on for a desperately needed victory to boost their efforts to avoid relegation.

Volos made the most of Aris’ slip-up by beating Giannina 0-1 away, with right back Efstathios Tachatos’ 83rd minute header enough to put the Magnesia side back in fifth.

Atromitos’ slim hopes of reaching the play-offs went up in smoke on Saturday morning as they were held to a 1-1 away draw against Asteras Tripolis.

The Peristeriotes began well and went ahead through a composed finish into the bottom left from winger Gaetan Robail after VAR intervened and overturned the original offside call (22′).

The Arcadians drew level early into the second half following a bouncing corner header from centre back Ervin Zukanovic (51′) in what proved to be the final decisive moment of the contest.
