AEK and Olympiacos are set to light up the final regular season round with a massive derby clash and there is plenty still to fight for as Enosi hopes to secure a points advantage over Panathinaikos heading into the play-offs.

The double-headed eagle of the South takes on the Piraeus giants at “Agia Sophia” Stadium on Monday morning (AEDT) in the 26th round of the Greek Super League in what is an excellent preview for the highly anticipated play-offs.

AEK comes into the final matchday with a one-point lead after defeating Atromitos 0-1 midweek and so will be desperate to guarantee themselves of a first-place finish at the regular season’s end.

Olympiacos will also be highly motivated to earn a positive result as a defeat would see them fall nine points behind their opponents on the ladder, a margin that would likely prove too difficult to overcome in their quest for a fourth consecutive premiership.

Panathinaikos goes on the road to face Atromitos and there is no room for error for the Greens as they continue to chase their first league title since 2010.

The “Trifylli” could leap ahead of AEK with a win or could potentially fall four points behind depending on how results go, making it vital they defeat a tricky Peristeriotes outfit.

Volos battles PAOK at home in another tough fixture that serves as a precursor to the upcoming gladiatorial series between the top six, with the Thessaloniki side the most in need of the win if they are to maintain their slight chances of finishing as champions.

Aris challenges Giannina at “Kleanthis Vikelidis” ground and they will be looking for a success to head into the play-offs with some momentum, especially in the wake of their poor loss to Lamia last round.

The three bottom sides of the competition will be craving a strong finish to the regular season ahead of the nervy relegation play-outs, starting with Levadiakos who play OFI at home.

The current wooden spooners last won in December, nine league matches ago, a run they would very much like to end this weekend.

Ionikos (13th) competes with Asteras Tripolis at home in what could be a tough contest for both teams, who have won only three and four games respectively this term.

Lamia is preparing for a difficult away meeting with Panetolikos and the Fthiotida side, who are only two points ahead of Levadiakos, will have to lift themselves up immediately following a soul-crushing 1-5 defeat midweek to PAOK in the first leg of their Cup semi-final tie.
