Immense joy was the order of the day for Stelios and Roula Tsiolas, who witnessed their son Georgios marry his beloved Marie Yiangou, daughter of Andrea and Katerina Yiangou, last Saturday, May 6, at St. Efstathios Church. The ceremony was conducted by Metropolitan Dervis and Father Kyrillos, who also happens to be a former student of Stelios and Roula Tsiolas.

The choice of the church was no coincidence, as Metropolitan Dervis had also married the groom’s parents and christened the groom at St. Efstathios Church. The couple were blessed to share their joy with their grandparents: Athanasia Feretopoulou on the groom’s side and Andreas and Maroulla Hadjiyianni and Zinovia Yiangou on the bride’s side.

The best man was the groom’s younger brother, Gregory Tsiolas, and the maid of honour was the bride’s older sister, Jena Nicola. The groom’s older brother, Panayiotis Tsiolas, attended the wedding as the groomsman, whereas the bridesmaid was the bride’s long-life friend Kristern Hadziahmetovic. All nephews and nieces of the groom – Stelios and Iliana Tsiolas – and the bride – Katheryn Nicola, Harry Nicola, and Theodore Nicola – accompanied the ceremony as page boys and flower girls.

The bride wore an elegant wedding dress with intricate details designed by Zian Couture, and the groom wore Tom Ford. A reception followed at the Palladium Ballroom Crown, where guests enjoyed a live music program by renowned virtuoso violinist Sally Cooper, and the Stan Fournarakis band and Doukissa, while DJ Nick Misseilidis entertained the audience on the decks.

The evening buzzed with more excitement after the performance of a dance group by Sotiris Sotiriou Dance Academy. The well-known music composer of the community, and father of the groom, Stelios Tsiolas, wrote a song for the newlywed couple which he performed on the wedding night at the reception, entitled “Poulia and the Dawn.”

The newlyweds will be heading to Dubai, the Maldives, and Greece to enjoy their honeymoon.

The couple got married at St Efstathios Church, where the groom’s parents got married and the groom was christened by His Eminence Metropolitan Mr Dervis, who also conducted the ceremony of the newlywed couple. Photo: Supplied
