The highly anticipated trailer for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 has arrived, and it’s all about Greece.

The film is scheduled for release on 8 September, the third instalment of the beloved romantic comedy franchise reunites John Corbett and Nia Vardalos as the charmingly mismatched couple, Ian Miller and Toula Portokalos, from Chicago.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 marks Vardalos’ directorial debut within the franchise and appears to pay tribute to Constantine, who passed away in 2021.

Speaking about the upcoming movie, Vardalos expressed to People magazine in February, “Toula and Ian are stronger than ever.”

In this latest adventure, the couple, accompanied by their extended family, embark on a journey to the Greek islands. Their purpose is to fulfil the last wish of Toula’s father, Gus, portrayed by the late Michael Constantine in the first two Big Fat Greek Wedding films.

As expected, hilarious antics and mishaps ensue, promising an entertaining and heart warming story.

Vardalos drew inspiration from her own real-life romance with a non-Greek partner to create the original ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’, which started as a one-woman stage play in 1997.

The film adaptation, released in 2002, became a global box office sensation, earning a staggering $368 million worldwide. Vardalos’ screenplay received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Despite mixed reviews, a sequel in 2016 proved to be a box office success.
