Geelong Arts Centre will unveil its $140 million Little Malop Street Redevelopment with a four-week Festival, which will feature our own, Zoy Frangos show, Variations.

Zoy’s star shines bright in the world of music theatre now.

Variations opens on August 16, and promises to entertain, engage emotionally, bring on tears and laughter, as well as inspire as it hronicles Zoy’s and his family’s journey and musical experiences, being raised by a Greek migrant father and an Indigenous Australian mother.

Zoy’s compelling story is told through song and narrative. Variations, is also a family affair, as Zoy is joined on stage by his wife, also a music theatre star, Elisa Colla. Elisa is known for her roles in Wicked, My Fair Lady, and A Little Night Music. Richard Chew and some of the country’s finest musicians will be backing Zoy.

Zoy’s lush tenor will weave together songs from Lloyd & Webber, Elvis, Ennio Morricone, and even George Dalaras. The songs will be meshed with thought-provoking and humorous stories from Zoy’s life. His variations on classics like Bring Him Home, If I Loved You, and his Wemba Wemba language version of Anthem are sure to captivate the audience.

Zoy’s impressive achievements include the honor of being an original cast member of the world’s first Indigenous opera, “Pecan Summer,” by Deborah Cheetham AO. He toured nationally in Les Misérables and portrayed Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Zoy has shared the stage with the legendary Tina Arena in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s EVITA. In recognition of his talent, he was honoured as the 2019 American Australian Association Rising Star.
