Chart-topping rapper LIGHT makes acting debut in the up-and-coming film, The Aegean, in which the Greek-Australian Hollywood veteran stars as well.

The film brings together a highly talented international cast, with Greek heritage on display. The acting talent hails from Australian, Austrian, British, and Greek shores. The lead role of Hector is played by Costas Mandylor (SAW X), who, with Australian-Greek Heritage returns to his ancestral home to deliver a truly nuanced performance of grief, pain, and loss.

Mandylor – or Kostas Theodosopoulos, which is his official name – was born and raised in South Melbourne and St Kilda to Greek immigrants, while he immigrated himself to the US in 1987, where he began acting classes. He had to work any job that was offered at first as he was unable to make it in the industry. He used a shortened form of his mother’s maiden name, claiming that his Greek original name was too long.

Mandylor’s first significant role was when he played a European Jew in the 1989 movie Triumph of the Spirit, which was shot on location in the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. After his return to Los Angeles, he met filmmaker Oliver Stone, went to auditions, and was cast as an Italian count in the 1991 film The Doors. Mandylor’s career spans across four decades and includes roles in films such as the Saw saga.

In the film, Aegean, the co-lead role of Theodore is played by the up-and-coming, talented British actor Nicky Dune, making his international feature film debut.

LIGHT will make his acting debut in the film, starring as the charming, sinister businessman Khristos.

Written and directed by Jacob Richardson, and co-produced by Aida Vucic and Allisa Tsukimori, The Aegean is a sweeping, ambitious epic.

The Aegean will be released globally, with a release date to be confirmed.
