The Greek Film Festival of Sydney has announced additional screenings for its opening and closing films off the back of another successful program shown this year.

Audiences will have one more chance to view the two movies which bookended the 28th edition of the Film Festival, “Behind the Haystacks” and “Iman”, with encores organised due to the popular demand and response of both pictures.

“We could not deprive our audience of experiencing one more time the two extraordinary films that opened and closed this year’s Greek Film Festival,” said Festival Chair, Nia Karteris.

The two films left a large impression on guests from the list of pictures that ran from October 19-29, influencing the decision to run them each one more time at Palace Cinemas Norton Street, Leichhardt.

“Behind the Haystacks”, the multi-award-winning feature film by Asimina Proedrou, will be shown on Friday November 3 at 8.30 p.m., giving guests one more chance to see the motion picture that Greece has selected as its official entry to the Oscars.

“Iman”, the powerful Cypriot film by Korinna Avraamidou and Kyriakos Tofaridis which closed this year’s program, will be shown on Saturday November 4 at 7 p.m. for anyone who was unable to catch one of the sessions on October 29.

In addition to “Iman”, there has also been an extra screening organised for “Karagiozis: The Movie”, directed by Akis Karras, at 10 a.m. as a final opportunity for a complete family outing with the kids to the movies.
