Musik-i Festival

Experience a vibrant fusion of Greek melodies and contemporary rhythms brought to life at with the Musik-i Festival.

The inaugural music event will be blending Greek melodies with contemporary rhythms and harmonies, brought to life through four local Hellenic based Australian music acts.

It will be a showcase of the emerging Greek Alternative Music scene here in Melbourne, featuring music acts Cats and the Canary, Heirs of Apollo, Erinaki and Artemis.

In between the sets and after the show, local DJ’s will drop tunes and songs, ranging in different genres and periods.

Carols By Candlelight

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and St John’s College of Preston present Carols By Candlelight.

This special tribute to Stelios Tsiolas will see a Christmas fete from 5.30pm with activities for all the family, including a jumping castle, play areas, photos with Santa for the kids, and food stalls.

At 7pm the carols concert will be presented by various choirs of the Holy Archdiocese including those from Greek schools and other organisations in the community.

This will all be followed by fireworks at 9.30pm.

Mafia has toured the globe perfecting sounds alongside some of the world’s most prolific artists such as Stevie Wonder, Missy Elliott, Lady Gaga, Iggy Azalea, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg and Salt N Pepa. Greek New Years Eve Darling Harbour

Girl From Greece Presents: Greek Jazz with The Keitels featuring Christina Xydi-Lignou

Those looking for a chill Sunday afternoon are in luck, as Girl From Greece is teaming up with Brisbane soul jazz band The Keitels, for a laid-back journey into the heart of Mediterranean Jazz.

Brisbane’s own Christina Xydi-Lingnou will also be bringing the freshest sounds straight from Greece.

Tickets are $10 at the door.

The Greek lineup:

Little Mel (Lathouras) – The versatile singer is ready to serve up Greek hospitality through her blend of jazz, soul, country, punk, and Greek tunes. A regular at the venue, she’s all set to bring the vibes.

Katerini Manolatos – This registered music therapist, is one of Brisbane’s hidden gems, seamlessly weaving classical and Greek Jazz into her singer/songwriter repertoire. Proudly Ithacan and Kytherian, Kat is a familiar face at Meanjin community functions, solo and with A Musical Odyssey.

Christina Xydi-Lignou – With a warm velvety tone, Christina effortlessly blends classical, Greek folk, pop, and jazz. Alongside her partner George Lignos, she graces Brisbane’s stages regularly. Besides being a singer, Christina is a Choral Specialist, composer, and arranger, leading the pioneering choir – Ellinkes Fones.
