Summer School: History & Culture of the Ancient World
The Hellenic Museum is set to hold its seventh annual Summer School this coming January in what promises to be a deep exploration of the world of ancient Greeks and Romans.
The Summer School will run from 8-12 January 2024 and will be presented by Dr Christopher Gribbin, a public historian specialising in ancient Greece and Rome.
It will consist of five sessions spread over each day with participants able to enrol in any and all of them (there is a discount for anyone who enrols in all four).
They will be held both in-person at the Hellenic Museum as well as online. The daily schedule is as follows:
10.00–11.00 – Oedipus and His Family
11.30–12.30 – Love & Relationships
13.30–14.30 – Socrates: His Life and Times
15.00–16.00 – Cities of the Greek & Roman World

United Cup
The United Cup is back for a second time, with the unique and unifying mixed-teams event set to light up the Australian summer.
Can second seeded Team Greece led by world no. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas and world no. 9 Maria Sakkari make it to the Sydney Finals?
Tuesday will see Greece compete against Chile and Wednesday night will see them take on Canada.
Greek action starts on Tuesday morning with Sakkari taking on Daniela Seguel, followed by Leylah Annie Fernandez the next day.
Tsitispas will compete against Nicolás Jarry on Tuesday and then Felix Auger Aliassime on Wednesday.
Both days will also see Greek Doubles action, still TBD.

Bouzoukia by the Sea
Christos Dantis will kick off his Australian tour with a performance at Adelaide’s Semaphore Greek Festival on January 12, before he takes the stage for two shows in Melbourne on January 13 and 20, at Kinisi at Trak.
The tour will then move on to Sydney for the third show on Friday January 19.
The one-night event ‘Bouzoukia by the Sea,’ promises a festive start to the new year with delightful Greek tunes, infusing the scenic beauty of Adelaide’s coastal charm with a vibrant Hellenic atmosphere.
Since his debut in the late 1980s, Christos Dantis has evolved into a beloved figure in the Greek music scene, capturing the hearts of audiences with his talent and charm.
He’ll be supported by singer and violinist Georgia Rappou.
