Renowned Greek singer Melina Aslanidou is set to make her return to Melbourne and Sydney when she headlines the Antipodes Festival and Greek Festival of Sydney next month.

Sharing the stage with local musicians from the broader Greek Community, Aslanidou is known for her dynamic vocals and charisma.

Antipodes is set to make a comeback on February 24th and 25th, while the Greek Festival of Sydney will also take place on the same dates.

She’ll be performing in Melbourne on the Saturday and Sydney on Sunday.

Aslanidou is often hailed as musical royalty in Greece, standing as one of the most successful singers of her generation.

Known for her hits such as “To Lathos,” “De Vazeis Myalo,” and “Den Einai Agapi Auto”, and her vocal range and unique songs, she has carved a niche for herself, fusing the traditions of Greek folk, entechno music, and pop.

The famous X-Factor judge embarked on her 24-year career in 2000 as a member of the band “Oi Apenanti.”

The band released two albums, one of which featured a captivating cover of “Ti Sou ‘Kana Kai Pineis,” propelling them to wider recognition.

Since 2003, Melina Aslanidou has forged a successful solo path, boasting a string of commercial successes and collaborations with some of Greece’s most prominent musical figures, including Yiannis Parios and Natasa Theodoridou.

In media release announcing her performance in Sydney, President of the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW, Harry Danalis, expressed his excitement.

“We are thrilled that Melina Aslanidou is going to perform at the 20 years Greek Fest at Darling Harbour,” he said.

“We know this is an event that the public looks forward to, and we are prepared to do everything in our power to make it memorable.”

Both events will be a celebration of all things Greek, with food, dance, music, stalls and much more, with Aslanidou headlining of course.

The Greek Festival of Sydney will be held at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour, while the Antipodes Festival will be on Lonsdale Street.
