Greek Australian racer Aaron Zerefos is set to ignite the tracks once again as he joins Griffith Racing for the highly anticipated 2024 Repco Bathurst 12 Hour.

Renowned for attracting top-tier drivers worldwide, including the likes of Valentino Rossi, the Bathurst 12 Hour stands as Australia’s premier endurance race.

Piloting the No.56 Ginetta G56 GT4 alongside English drivers Colin White and Owen Hizzey, Zerefos brings his wealth of experience to Mount Panorama for his ninth start in the iconic endurance race.

The allure of the Mount Panorama circuit holds a special place in Zerefos’ heart, he told Neos Kosmos, and he eagerly anticipates “the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead on this hallowed ground of Australian motorsport”.

Under the hood, the racer and bussinessman explained, the car boasts a Ginetta-built 6.2-liter V8 engine, churning out a 500 horsepower, promising a thrilling performance on the track.

“I’m excited for my ninth 12 Hour and look forward to what the Mountain has in store for 2024,” Zerefos said reflecting on his return to the Bathurst 12 Hour.

“Racing with Team Ginetta and Griffith Racing is a privilege, and I’m ready to embrace the competition.”

Having recently tested the Ginetta at Queensland Raceway with the Griffith Racing team, Zerefos is confident in the car’s capabilities for the grueling endurance race at Bathurst.

“I got a good feel for the Ginetta at QR,” he enthused noting its potential for success on the challenging Bathurst circuit.

Acknowledging the trust placed in him by Griffith Racing, Zerefos expressed his gratitude, affirming his readiness to tackle the race with focus and determination.

“I’m used to pressure, whether it’s in business or racing, so I’m heading to Bathurst to focus on the job at hand,” he told Neos Kosmos.

With an eye on the intense competition ahead, Zerefos remains optimistic about their prospects, focusing on strategy and endurance.

“Hopefully, we can keep our head down, look after the equipment, and come home with a good result,” he added.

Beyond Bathurst, Zerefos has his sights set on further challenges, including the Bathurst 6 Hour in April and a venture to America to join Black Sheep Racing in a Porsche GT3 Cup Car at Texas’ Circuit of the Americas in May.

Practice and qualifying sessions for the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, with the main race commencing on Sunday at 5.45am, broadcasted internationally on Channel 7 and Fox Sports.
