The Greek-Australian Cultural League (GACL) invites artists to participate in the 14th Annual Antipodean Palette Group Exhibition, scheduled for July 10-21, 2024. The event showcases the diverse talents within the Greek-Australian community and provides a platform for established and emerging artists to display their works.

The exhibition, to be held at Steps Gallery on 62 Lygon Street, Carlton, will be open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm, and during weekends from 11am to 3pm. Artists interested in participating are encouraged to contact the Exhibition Coordinator at antipodeanpalette@gmail.com.

The 70th issue of Antipodes is set to launch on Sunday, October 20, with a special dedication to Cyprus. This edition of the bilingual literary periodical will explore various facets of the island known as the birthplace of Aphrodite, highlighting the enduring spirit of its people over the centuries.

In a year marking 50 years since the island’s invasion and subsequent unjust occupation, the publication aims to generate discourse toward resolving this longstanding divide.

The issue will feature works submitted by members and non-members, including poems, short stories, studies, essays, book reviews, and visual arts, in both Greek and English.

Contributions must be original and previously unpublished, adhering to specified length limits: 100 verses for poems, 2000 words for short stories and essays, 2000 words for studies, and 1000 words for book reviews and other critiques. Submissions exceeding these limits will be rejected.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, June 21, 2024. Works should be sent electronically in Word document format to gacl.editor@gmail.com.
