In 2018, two friends, Yalçın Adal and Stavros Tziortzis walked from one end of Cyprus to the other to promote the message that Cypriots can live together in peace.
While doing so they filmed a documentary titled Journey into Cyprus – East to West.
This weekend, SEKA Victoria and the Cyprus Community of Melbourne and Victoria are holding a free screening of the film with attendance of the two men.
The two believe in a free and united Cyprus with no borders.
They walked from the east of Cyprus to the west in 16 Days, and it was not easy, as they know finding a solution for Cyprus isn’t either.
Walking between 20 to 38km a day, over rugged terrain, steep mountains and they finished the walk at Aphrodite Rocks.
Throughout the journey they explored the legend of the 101st Window of the Queen (Regina) of Cyprus, finding the windows of three castles along the way.
Viewers will see beautiful scenery, touching personal moments, and a friendship defying the divide.
After the screening, Adal and Tziortzis will speak about their experiences in Cyprus and answer questions.
MC of the day will be Lambrini Lambrou Christopher and Kat Theophanous MP will be also be at the screening.
